Kevin Jennings, assistant deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, will address the importance of creating safe, supportive school environments at the Maryland State Department of Education’s Bullying and Harassment Conference at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Church of Severn Run in Severn, Maryland. He also will discuss the harmful impact of bullying and harassment on academic performance during his keynote address. The theme of this year’s conference is “Above and Beyond Bullying: Who Are the Youth Being Targeted?”
