Kevin Jennings, assistant deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, will give keynote remarks at the “Strengthening Connections: Weaving a Network of Support” conference on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at the Hospitality House in Fredericksburg, Va. Jennings’ remarks will focus on the role a positive school climate plays in student academic achievement and discuss how to create safe schools through plans to prevent bullying and harassment. The conference, hosted by the Virginia Department of Education, promotes coordinating student services and building partnerships among school personnel, parents and communities.
