Assistant Deputy Secretary Jim Shelton will give keynote remarks at the 4th Annual Black Male Summit at Morehouse College in Atlanta on Friday, Feb. 10. He will discuss the critical role of creating birth through college and career pathways in ensuring excellence and equity in education for African-American males. Additionally, he will make the case for grounding this endeavor in research and science.
The title of the summit is “Black Boys, Black Men and Comprehensive Education: A View From the Front of the Bus.” The summit extends the missions of the Morehouse Research Institute and the Morehouse Male Initiative and serves as a forum to inform public policy and action agendas as they relate to and impact upon African-American boys and men in the educational arena.
