Assistant Deputy Secretary to Host Town Hall on College Affordability at Akron's Buchtel High School

The U.S. Department of Education's Assistant Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Improvement Jim Shelton will host a town hall at Buchtel High School in Akron as part of a series of conversations the Education Department is having with students and families on college affordability. The forum will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15. Shelton will deliver brief remarks and then take questions from students, teachers and administrators. He will also discuss the importance of FAFSA completion and share information about the administration’s initiatives to make college more affordable, including increased grant aid, loan repayment options, and expanding tax credits.
