The Advisory Commission on Accessible Instructional Materials in Postsecondary Education (AIM Commission) will hold its second full-commission teleconference from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Friday with the public invited to listen.
Assistant Secretary Alexa Posny, who heads the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, will deliver opening remarks and highlight commission activities. Following Posny's remarks, discussion will focus on topics related to best practices for improving the availability of accessible instructional materials for individuals with low-incidence disabilities. And, how to effectively provide access to instructional materials through a market model.
Office of Postsecondary Education staff will brief members on grant projects that focus on individuals with disabilities in higher education. The meeting will also include a roundtable discussion on the current postsecondary experience of students with disabilities who require accessible instructional materials.

The AIM Commission, established by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, is charged with studying the current state of accessible materials for students with disabilities in postsecondary education and making recommendations to Congress for improving access to and the distribution of instructional materials in accessible formats.
