"NAEP 1998 Reading State Reports (Alabama through Wyoming)" These reading state reports from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) have two sections. The Overview provides basic information on NAEP and the overall results for public schools in graphic form. The second section reports findings for the entire public school population at grades 4 and 8 as well as for the population broken out by major demographic categories and school type.
"NAEP 1996 Trends in Academic Progress," a National Center for Education Statistics report, documents long-term trends in performance of students in science, mathematics, reading, and writing. Nationally representative samples of students aged 9, 13, and 17 have been assessed periodically in science, mathematics, and reading since the early 1970s; Students in grades 4, 8, and 11 have been assessed in writing since 1984. Results include overall trends in performance, as well as data for population subgroups (such as race and gender). Information is also included about associated instructional characteristics and home background."Report in Brief 1996 NAEP Trends in Academic Progress" is an Executive Summary to the report titled, "NAEP 1996 Trends in Academic Progress". This Executive Summary gives the reader a bit of information about the major results of the NAEP 1996 science, mathematics, reading, and writing long-term trend assessments.
"State Activity Reports on Child Literacy" Summit team participants from over 40 states and territories voluntarily submitted the information for this report. Each report may include: how a state is implementing the latest child literacy research; a success story and contact information; and the state's action plan to further improve reading achievement.
