In the morning, Hansen toured Boone Park Elementary School in North Little Rock and spoke to students, parents, teachers and community leaders about President Bush's education reform plan, No Child Left Behind, which is based on four principles: accountability for results; local control and flexibility; expanded parental choice; and using instructional methods that have been proven to work. Later in the day, he met with members of the Arkansas Business and Education Alliance to discuss how business and civic leaders can help make sure that no child is left behind in our school system. U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige launched the Education Department's Back to School, Moving Forward tour in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with President Bush on August 15.
