The Nonprofit Risk Management Center has prepared two pamphlets that discuss legal issues surrounding the use of volunteers by community-based organizations. After conducting a search for appropriate Federal and non-Federal materials on this topic, we concluded that these pamphlets best responded to the concerns that have been expressed to us by agencies using volunteers in literacy settings. The pamphlets do not purport to give legal advice, but instead discuss issues that you might find useful and interesting.
