A r c h i v e d I n f o r m a t i o nAmerica Reads ChallengeREAD*WRITE*NOW!Children who participate in READ*WRITE*NOW! agree to read and write thirty minutes a day and learn a new vocabulary word, five days a week. Once or twice a week, children meet with reading partners for extra help. While this reading partnership is important throughout the year, it is especially critical during the summer when many children lose reading skills. The following materials are available to help: Actividades para Divertirse Leyendo y Escribiendo, 1995-96 Play on Paper (ages five and under) Spiderman in Amazing Adventures (May 1997), an activity book for children K-6 Just Add Kids (August 1996), a directory of literacy resources for children and families The Read*Write*Now! Partners Tutoring Program (August 1995), a guide to one-on-one tutoring
