America Reads Challenge

READ*WRITE*NOW!

Children who participate in READ*WRITE*NOW! agree to read and write thirty minutes a day and learn a new vocabulary word, five days a week. Once or twice a week, children meet with reading partners for extra help. While this reading partnership is important throughout the year, it is especially critical during the summer when many children lose reading skills. The following materials are available to help:

Activities for Reading and Writing Fun, 1997 (birth through grade six)

Actividades para Divertirse Leyendo y Escribiendo, 1997

To assist in the recognition of those who participate in the program, we have included certificate templates for the Learning Partner and the Children's Successful Completion Certificate in PDF format for local printing and distribution. You will require Adobe's free Acrobat Reader to successfully view and/or print these certificates.

Activities for Reading and Writing Fun, 1995-96
Actividades para Divertirse Leyendo y Escribiendo, 1995-96

Play on Paper (ages five and under)
Jugando con Papel

Spiderman in Amazing Adventures (May 1997), an activity book for children K-6

Just Add Kids (August 1996), a directory of literacy resources for children and families

The Read*Write*Now! Partners Tutoring Program (August 1995), a guide to one-on-one tutoring
