The four students currently placed are working at Lake Otis Elementary and Muldoon Elementary schools. They are working with children in the first and second grades. The students' schedules rotate and are worked out directly with the school. Students are screened by an interview with the Career Services Center and an application given by the participating schools.

Our Reader Buddies work with the reading specialists at the elementary schools in the Juneau-Douglas School District. They are assigned tutoring time with specific children identified by their regular classroom teachers as being at risk or below grade level.
