Arithmetic review 2.0 (ENC-013374) This CD-ROM with user's guide contains a program at three skill levels to assist students in learning, memorizing, and mastering the basic arithmetic facts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Each skill level contains interactive activities for learning, practicing, and drilling. Beginning students work with the numbers from one to nine in all the activities. Intermediate students use the numbers eight through twelve, fifteen, 25, and 50. Advanced students learn with an animated tutorial; practice with randomly generated problems; and learn, practice and drill mental arithmetic skills. Included are animated flashcard activities, spoken problems, tutorial narration, and timed problem sets. Program features include daily and weekly performance reports, randomly generated problems, and worksheets for printing. The user's guide includes the philosophy and goals for the CD-ROM and detailed descriptions of activities at all levels.
- Five in a row : mental math (ENC-007290) This software, developed for students grade 2 to adult, was designed to exercise players' critical thinking skills by combining problem solving with the four basic arithmetic operations in a game format.
- James discovers math (ENC-013952) This CD-ROM with teacher's guide, part of the ACTIVE MIND series, contains ten interactive learning activities designed to promote problem solving, reasoning, and creativity in very young children. Using animated activities and games activated by clicking on picture icons, children can explore such mathematical concepts as measurement, geometry, numeration, and computation with on-screen manipulatives. The teacher's guide contains 21 classroom activities to develop and extend the concepts presented on the CD-ROM. Included in these activities are applications to art, language arts, and science.
- Math Workshop deluxe (ENC-013950) This CD-ROM contains eight interactive learning activities to introduce and reinforce math skills in problem solving, basic operations and computation, pattern recognition, spatial thinking, and logical reasoning. Poly Gonzales, a middle school math whiz, explains the eight math workshop activities, which include dividing a whole into fractional parts and using the fraction parts to make music, building three types of puzzles that become animated, and painting patterns.
- Sunbuddy Math Playhouse (ENC-013356) This CD-ROM provides an interactive theater environment in which students can choose to watch a play while reading along, to click on animated presentations of mathematical facts, or play mathematical games. The four mathematical games are a memory game, a map game, an addition and subtraction game, and a sorting game.
