UPDATE - JUNE 30, 2000

Amendment 0002 (20K ASCII File) to RFP ED-00-R-0052 has been issued. It includes (1) responses to questions received on or before June 12, 2000 and (2) a list of the Federal Information Processing (FIP) Standards that are applicable to the RFP. Note that the Closing Date of this RFP remains unchanged. Proposals are due to the NIFL by 4 p.m., Tuesday July 18, 2000.

The National Institute for Literacy (NIFL) has a requirement to design and implement a comprehensive system to provide information on scientifically-based reading research to teachers, parents, and teacher educators to increase their awareness of research-proven methods for teaching reading, preventing reading difficulties, and correcting reading problems; and to assist in carrying out NIFL??s responsibilities as authorized in the National Reading Excellence Act. The system will include a web site, an on-line reference collection; satellite meetings; training institutes for teachers and teacher educators; technical assistance networks; and self-paced, multi-media teacher training packages, available in a variety of formats, including on-line, CD-ROM, and in print.

Copies of the RFP may be picked up in person on the issuing date at the above address. Issue date is June 6, 2000 and closing date is July 18, 2000 (4:00PM EST). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered. The dates listed herein are subject to change.
