  Tip Five

Collaborate with outside organizations to strengthen the project and the instructional units.

   Experiences:

Eight of the Consortium teams collaborated with two or more organizations while developing their learning modules. In several cases the partners contributed expert advice and the loan of materials. For other teams, partners provided in-kind technological support. In several cases the projects were expanded through the support of partners, and in one case the curriculum that was developed through the project was piloted in a local school district that acted as a partner.

   Recommendations:

  • Seek partners from like-minded community, state, and/or national agencies, institutions, and organizations.
  • Encourage partners to join the project to provide expertise, support, and marketing.
