Name: Debbie Ann Reed E-mail: reedd@hsms2.dsc.k12.ar.us Subject: Computer Keyboarding/Computer Technology Grade Taught: 6th and adult education City: Hot Springs State: AR Resource's URL: Date posted: Mon Mar 15 15:51:25 EST 1999 URL: Help fund and promote computers and technological equipment to a community center to be used to education and train students at risk and young adults. I work at a community center called Quapaw Community Center here in Hot Springs, AR. We are wanting to begin teaching computer classes to young adults and at-risk students who are on low income. The use of computers is constantly increasing in today's society. Unless you have a college degree, it is hard to enter any business without some type of computer knowledge or experience. Many of today's low income students do not have the financial means to attend college in order to learn about computers. With this program, we hope to increase the awareness of computers, their importance in the work-force, and offer experience to students who are not college bound. This program will help keep our youth off the steets and promote quality learning. It is my hope that some agency will help me with this project and invest in our today's youth which our future leaders for tomorrow.
