I encourage my students to develop the love of reading. I require book lists, and encourage the students to develop a favorite author and enjoy their books. I am interested in a program that would develop interest in reading and a way to bring authors of children's literature to the schools to encourage the love of reading and to learn how an author develops stories, how the books are illustrated, etc. I also believe this could lead to the development of creative writing skills. I would be interested in working on any program that encourages reading and would also include the family in encouraging a child to read.
