Next week: OVAE at the National Career Clusters Institute

OVAE will be sharing updates and information at the 2013 National Career Clusters Institute in Fort Worth, Texas next week. Hosted by the National Career Technical Foundation of the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc), the annual event brings together educators, counselors, state leaders, workforce development professionals, business and industry experts, and economic development partners to share insights and strategies for coordinating educational delivery in communities and states.

OVAE staff will be leading or participating in five sessions during the conference that is being held at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel June 9-12:

Career Academy Leadership Institute

OVAE staff will provide comments on the importance of academies in preparing students for success in college and careers, and the importance of the connection to business and industry as partners in a comprehensive career preparation model.

Criteria for High Quality Career and Technical Education Programs

This session will take a close look at how states are building high quality Career and Technical (CTE) programs that better prepare students for college and careers. Strategies for implementation will be provided that follow OVAE’s Design Framework for Rigorous Programs of Study (RPOS).
