Audrey Buehring

Deputy Director 

Audrey Buehring serves as Deputy Director for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. At the Initiative, Audrey serves as a liaison between the federal agencies and the Initiative by coordinating the Initiative’s Interagency Working Group. Additionally, she leads the effort to build and promote sustainable Asian American and Pacific Islander communities via federal programs.

Audrey came to the Initiative as a Presidential Management Fellow from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Before entering the public sector, she earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Auburn University and worked as an engineering program manager for General Motors OnStar. After taking OnStar from conception to production on several vehicle lines, Audrey returned to school to obtain an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Florida and a J.D. from the University of Denver.
