Dilawar is President and C.E.O of Yonja Media Group, a global social media company. Yonja Media Group operates social networking, recruiting and local commerce brands, and is backed by Tiger Global Management. Prior to joining Yonja Media, Dilawar was head of platform strategy and operations at Yahoo!. Earlier, Dilawar spent several years in product leadership roles in enterprise software at SAP and Siebel Systems. Dilawar started his career as a management consultant at Deloitte and Ernst & Young.
Dilawar has played a leadership role in a broad range of civic efforts globally. In 2010, President Obama appointed Dilawar to the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). As Commissioner, Dilawar has engaged small businesses on initiatives including access to capital, patent reform, open data, Health IT, immigration and public-private partnerships. In 2008, Dilawar served as national co-chair of the Democratic National Committee’s South Asian Leadership Council. Dilawar is board member of OPEN Silicon Valley, an entrepreneurship non-profit. In 2009, Dilawar co-founded American Pakistan Foundation, a developmental organization launched by the Secretary of State Hilary Clinton. Dilawar has participated in U.S. State Department’s Global Entrepreneurship Delegations to Turkey and the U.A.E. Dilawar holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
