U.S. Department of Education to Kick Off Let's Read! Let's Move! Summer Series with Celebrity Guests

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, Personal Chef to the First Family Samuel Kass, and Cornell McClellan, fitness consultant and personal trainer to the First Family, will launch this year's Let's Read! Let's Move! summer enrichment series at the U.S. Department of Education headquarters building on Wednesday, July 11, at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will be joined by Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood and local D.C students for the Department of Education's "Let's Read. Let's Move." summer enrichment series on Wednesday, July 7, from noon-1:30 p.m. at the U.S. Department of Education's Lyndon Baines Johnson headquarters outdoor plaza in Washington, D.C.

First Lady, Federal Agencies Launch Summer Initiative to Curb Childhood Obesity and Reading Loss

Washington, DC—First Lady Michelle Obama and four Cabinet Secretaries, joined Patrick Corvington, CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service to launch United We Serve: Let's Read. Let's Move. today. The new initiative will get more Americans volunteering to combat childhood obesity and summer learning loss among youth.
