Education Secretary Duncan to Host Twitter Town Hall on Hispanic Educational Excellence

Following President Obama's State of the Union Address—in which critical topics like college affordability, dropout rates, teachers, and job training were addressed—U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will engage with the Hispanic community through a twitter town hall at 3:00 p.m. ET on February 8. The conversation will be conducted in both English and Spanish.

White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics to Convene President’s Advisory Commission Members

WASHINGTON – Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, record producer and dancer Shakira will join a dozen fellow new members of the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics for meetings at the White House and be sworn-in at an official ceremony at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center on Thursday.
