March 25, 2016U.S. Secretary of Education John King today issued the following statement to celebrate the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, the historic health care reform law signed by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010:
"Healthy children are better learners. Through the historic Affordable Care Act, more families have access to the health care they deserve. The law alleviated the burden too many families felt without health insurance and created pathways for hospitals and communities to collaborate in new and meaningful ways around supporting healthy students.
July 14, 2011U.S. Education Department Joins U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to Announce New Investment in School-Based Health Centers
Education Secretary Arne Duncan joined Health and Human Services Department Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today to announce awards of $95 million to 278 school-based health center programs across the country. Provided by the Affordable Care Act, the awards will help clinics expand and provide more health care services at schools nationwide.
