These are some of the findings presented in the first three (of six) booklets in the series Findings from the Condition of Education, which contains newly available data documenting the educational advances of American high school students in the decade since the publication of A Nation At Risk. The first booklet, High School Students Ten Years After "A Nation At Risk," documents gains in student achievement, coursetaking, students' educational aspirations, and college enrollment rates. The second booklet, The Educational Progress of Black Students, looks at the educational progress of black students in areas such as educational aspirations, college enrollment and completion, labor market outcomes, and adult literacy levels. The third booklet, America's Teachers Ten Years After "A Nation At Risk," examines the current state of the teaching profession and how certain aspects of it (e.g., teacher supply and demand) have changed over the past 10 years.
The remaining booklets in the series will cover the educational progress of Hispanic students (booklet 4) and women (booklet 5) and the cost of higher education (booklet 6). They are expected to be available in the fall.
