Join us in a National Day of Service

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., said that “Everybody can be great … because anybody can serve.” On January 19, the country will honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, and what better way to do so than to volunteer during the National Day of Service. People from across the country are pledging a commitment to serve during MLK Day and throughout the year, and here is how you can get involved:

  1. The event I participated in was extremely rewarding and a “win win” for everyone! Hillcrest is a transitional housing program that helps homeless families become self-supportive, self-reliant contributors to society. Hillcrest has a 95% success rate of transitioning graduate families to self sufficiency. Hillcrest has also been recognized for “best practices” in transitional housing with the National Alliance to End Homelessness. Homelessness across our nation is reaching unprecedented levels and has not received the full and complete attention it should. Each and everyone of us could be in that situation at any time.

  2. Can you please tell me where I can get a banner and/or signs that say “National Day of Service”? I am holding a food drive for senior citizens in my community on that day and I would like to have a banner in front of the table and some signs on the road. Thanks for your help.
