Achievement Gap is Still Wide but Narrowing: NAEP 9-Year-Old Reading Trends

In 1975 NAEP 9-Year-Old Reading Trend Score for Whites was just below 225. By 2005 the score
had increased to 225. Hispanics scored approximately 187 and Blacks scored approximately 185 in 1975 reading trend scores. These scores increased to 200 by 2005 for both Hispanics and Blacks.
