LEAD & MANAGE MY SCHOOL
Implementing Research-Based Prevention Programs in Schools

Introduction

When selecting a prevention program, do you wonder what features will help make its implementation in your school easier and more effective?

Have you questioned why some prevention programs seem to work in one school but not in another?

Did you ever suspect that your prevention program wasn't going well, but couldn't pinpoint the problem?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, then this online workshop is for you!

This event includes tips, tools, and resources you can use to understand and promote effective program implementation in your schools and districts. By the end of this event, you will be able to:

  • define and describe quality program implementation

  • identify program features that can facilitate the ease and effectiveness of implementation

  • identify and enhance contextual factors that can influence implementation in school-based settings

  • establish a system to monitor and document program implementation

Over the next five days, you will have the opportunity to review materials and engage in activities that will help you reflect on and facilitate program implementation. You will also hear what experts have to say about implementation and talk to fellow MSCs from across the country who are struggling with and finding solutions to the same challenges that you face in your schools.

The Center's online continuing education training program offers a menu of skills-based, interactive learning activities designed to facilitate the transfer of knowledge into practice, enhance the exchange of effective practices among middle school coordinators (MSCs), and strengthen MSCs' capacity to implement effective prevention efforts.
