Objectives:

This workshop is designed to help you understand your role as a change agent in facilitating the adoption of prevention programming in your school and district. By the end of this event, you will be able to do the following:

  • Describe the multiple roles middle school coordinators play as effective change agents

  • Understand the overall change process for implementing and sustaining prevention programs

  • Define the stages of concern that individuals go through in implementing new programs

  • Tailor your implementation strategies to individuals at different stages of concern

  • Recognize possible barriers to the implementation of prevention programs and use your understanding of the change process to address them

The Center's online continuing education training program offers a menu of skills-based, interactive learning activities designed to facilitate the transfer of knowledge into practice, enhance the exchange of effective practices among middle school coordinators (MSCs), and strengthen MSCs' capacity to implement effective prevention efforts.
