Accrediting Agency Recognition Process Goes Electronic

The Office of Postsecondary Education, Accreditation and State Liaison (ASL) is pleased to announce that as of December 30, 2004 the Web-based e-recognition submission system is live and on-line at http://webprod.cbmiweb.com/aslweb/index.cfm. The Web site will allow accrediting agencies seeking continued recognition or submitting interim reports or requests for an expansion of their recognized scope to:

  • Provide a narrative response to each applicable criterion for recognition listed in CFR Part 602 Subpart B;
  • Upload supporting documents directly from the computer;
  • Verify and print the petition before submitting it;
  • Submit the petition for review; and
  • Receive technical assistance from the system HelpDesk.

In Spring 2005, ASL will provide a workshop in Washington, D.C. for those agencies submitting petitions and reports in June 2005 for review by the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI) at its December 2005 meeting.
