American Customer Satisfaction Index Methodology

To improve services to its customers and stakeholders, the Department conducts annually a survey of satisfaction on the quality of the Department's goods and services. A total of ten groups, eight program offices, EDFacts Coordinators and Chief State School Officers participate in the survey. The survey is conducted using the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) which is the national indicator of customer evaluations of the quality of goods and services and is the only uniform, cross-industry/government measure of customer satisfaction. ACSI has measured more than 100 programs of federal government agencies since 1999.
