Additional Source Information: NCLB Consolidated State Performance Report. Frequency: Annually. Collection Period: 2002 - 2003 Data Available: March 2005 Validated By: No Formal Verification. Limitations: The states reporting assessment data for migrant students fluctuate from one year to the next. States are also redesigning assessment systems and changing the definition of ''proficient.'' As such, the indicator does not represent performance in the same states or on the same measures from one year to the next. In addition, until the passage of NCLB, limited numbers of migrant children were included in the assessment systems. Improvements: It is expected that this indicator will have greater validity and reliability, over time, as the state assessment systems become more stable and the systems include all migrant students. |
