Progress: Positive pattern established. Although data have been collected for years 2002 and 2003, they are not available for reporting at this time; they will be available in April 2005. Explanation: In 1999, program performance data was impacted by program start up issues and issues with reporting. As the program has matured, completion rates above 50% are becoming more normative. Given issues of maturity and mobility, these rates seem fairly positive. |
Additional Source Information: Sole source is the annual grantee performance reports. Frequency: Annually. Collection Period: 2003 - 2004 Data Available: April 2005 Validated By: On-Site Monitoring By ED. No independent validation. Limitations: Data is based on continuous enrollment. Therefore, the current enrollment is being compared to the outcome of graduates, including individuals served in the prior year and those still enrolled at year end. This distorts the numbers when the program is either growing or contracting. Programs differ in objectives and degrees/certificates offered, so very different outcomes are being combined. Reporting is inconsistent from State to State. Some data being combined may not be reliable. |
