FY 2010 Continuing Resolutions
- Second Continuing Resolution—P.L. 111-88, October 30, 2009. Division B of this Act provides further continuing appropriations for many Federal agencies, including ED, until the enactment of regular FY 2010 appropriations or through December 18, 2009, whichever occurs first.
- First Continuing Resolution—P.L. 111-68, October 1, 2009. Division B of this Act is the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2010 providing FY 2010 funding for Federal agencies, at the FY 2009 level, until October 31, 2009.
FY 2010 Congressional Action —On July 30, 2009 the Senate Appropriations Committee reported H.R. 3293, providing FY 2010 appropriations for the Department of Education (ED). American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009—On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed Public Law 111-5, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). The following Recovery Act tables are available:
- A table (last updated 08/03/2009) showing the Initial Release of Recovery Act Funds, by State in PDF [18KB] and MS Excel [59KB]. Initial funds for the following programs were released April 1, 2009 to States that submitted the certification required by section 1607(a) of the Recovery Act:
  - ESEA Title I Grants to LEAs
  - IDEA Parts B and C
  - Rehabilitation Act State Grants
  - Independent Living State Grants
  - Services for Older Individuals who are Blind
  The initial release of State Fiscal Stabilization Funds, also shown on the table, will occur within 2 weeks of approval of a State's application for these funds.

- State tables showing State allocations of FY 2008-FY 2010 President's Budget, including allocations under the Recovery Act; and

FY 2009 Suppemental Appropriations—On June 24, 2009, President Obama signed Public Law 111-32, providing supplemental appropriations for FY 2009. Sections 803 and 804 in title VIII of the Act affect Education Department programs.
FY 2009 Appropriations—On March 11, 2009, President Obama signed P.L. 111-8, the Omnibus Appropriations Act, 2009, which provides FY 2009 funding for most Federal agencies, including ED. FY 2009 Continuing Resolutions

Second Continuing Resolution—P.L. 111-6, March 6, 2009, extending continuing appropriations through March 11, 2009.
First Continuing Resolution—P.L. 110-329, September 30, 2008, the "Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2009." Division A of this law is the "Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2009" and provides continuing appropriations through March 6, 2009. Division B of this law is the "Disaster Relief and Recovery Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2008," and includes funds and provisions for certain ED programs.
