Students in Special Education
have an IEP that gives them accommodations that
are used on the standardized tests and in the
classroom. These students have a disability that
needs accommodating, since students all have to
pass the same tests and do this by mastering the
same standards. These students are learning to
deal with these disabilities and technology can
enhance this. We have the computer program, called
READ 180. It is online and the students can
interact with it, and as a result their reading
scores are improved. There are books on tape that
assists the student who is an auditory
learner.There is much more that we could use with
these students. Unfortunately, funding determines
what we can
have.
