Frequent Absences
I appreciated
Harvey''s comments regarding students with
frequent absences. I checked into the programs
suggested and unfortunately these and most
programs I have found allow for a virtual or cyber
experiences only. My focus is to help students be
involved in school when they are able to attend
but also be just as successful at home(sickness,
homebound etc.) using current available
technology(plugged into the classroom they are
missing). My goal is to greatly reduce tha amount
of children who are forced into homebound
instruction and reduce the number of students who
are forced into homeschooling or cyber schools
because of frequent absences and the lack of
support from local school districts to help them
succeed and be a part of their school.Assistive
technology seems the likely direction, however
accessable technology for all students is the
goal.
