Supporting the use of Core
Technologies
The Department of Education
could add considerable value to existing efforts
by selecting a small number of key technology
areas (such as educational PDA''s) and consciously
supporting an annual cycle of investigation and
reporting of their use in education. Modelled on
the process for creating this overall Technology
Plan, the process would offer guidance and support
for projects that built on past knowledge and made
a conscious effort to systematically extend the
value of the technology in schools. It would also
act as a focal point for the dialog with
commercial providers of these technologies and
their
applaications.
