Leveraging Technology for Personalized
Assessment/Instruction
Schools, students
and parents need a flexible, open-source,
web-based system that tracks and maintains student
accomplishments. Portfolios are just one of the
tools we offer all students as part of a
comprehensive school-to-career system,
FutureConnect. All middle/high school students are
trained on building a comprehensive, web-based
portfolio that includes information on their test
scores, academic info, in-school and club
achievements and career interests. The portfolios
can be accessed by counselors, teachers, parents
and others who want to provide individualized
coaching to students. School staff can generate
reports on student portfolio activity and
break-out students by any criteria useful for
identifying students who need extra help. Our
system also includes an e-mentoring module and
many tools students/parents can use for career
exporation and job/college searches. Our
open-source technology model makes FutureConnect
efficient, flexible, effective and
scalable.
