Use class room software which can be shared freely.

I would like to recommend that you consider recommending software to schools which can be freely shared with the students. As any teacher knows, students will retain learning best when they can practice it themselves. This is the rational behind homework.

If a student learns to use a software program in school and then can take it home and work on it there, the experience is greatly enhanced since the homework will reinforce the knowledge gained in the class room. In addition, if the student has the software at home, he/she is likely to try to use the software in way not anticipated by the instructor. This type of informal learning both reinforces the classroom work and leads to greater facility with the computer.
