Technology Integration
One of the
biggest obstacles to technology integration is the
basic structure of the classroom. Teachers still
use the stand and deliver method - now we have
PowerPoint instead of the overhead projector ---
staff development is critical but if there
isn''''''''t anyone to followup then what is the
point - Leadership on technology integration must
come from the district office to the principal to
the classroom. NCLB has actually hampered efforts
for technology integration - the focus is now the
"test" and that AYP can be met. Teachers will say
that they do not have time to "use" technology.
Technology coaches appears to be an effect effort
but most small districts cannot afford the
personnel
costs.
