  Technology''s Role In Teacher Education

The Dept. of Education can assist greatly with online technical tutoring for teachers. The requirements for teaching degrees must also begin to, at least, introduce high tech as part of their required credentials.

The realities of a high tech employment environment, just about demands that both teacher and student be prepared for what really lies ahead for them. In addition, sheer volume, in terms of student population, makes and old fashioned chalk board approach almost obsolete. The effective use of technology can also address the problem of acquiring highly skilled teachers who are willing to work in problem low income areas.

A coordinated approach with the educational community and leading software developers, would lead to specifically developed teaching tools, geared especially for the educational environment. Interactive diagnostic and development software would greatly enhance overall productivity of both teacher and student.
