Dear TRIO Project Directors:
Enclosed you will find a copy of a memorandum from the Office of the Chief Financial Officer for the U.S. Department of Education (ED) to all grantees of ED discretionary grant funds. The memorandum provides information and guidance on the Federal requirements for cash drawdowns under your grant account.
It is very important that you and other responsible parties within your institution become familiar with and comply with these procedures. The consequences of not adhering to these regulatory requirements are outlined in the attached memorandum.
A copy of this letter is also being sent to the certifying representative for your project grant. I also encourage you to share a copy of the attached memorandum with other officials at your institution or agency that have specific responsibility for drawing down your TRIO funds.
