The Information Resource Center (IRC) is a central entry point for the U.S. Department of Education's customers, serving them by telephone at 1-800-USA-LEARN and by email at education@custhelp.com. IRC Specialists help parents, students, educators, community and business leaders, and interested citizens with inquiries about the President’s and the Secretary’s education priorities. Specialists also provide information or referrals on Department of Education programs, funding opportunities, teleconferences and other events, and a wide range of other school-related topics.

On average, the Center responds to 14,000 telephone calls and 500 emails per month.

The IRC Mission: To provide our customers with accurate education information and offer guidance in accessing education resources. We are committed to providing efficient and courteous service and demonstrating customer service excellence.
