Program Description In September 2004, IMLS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) created the Partnership for a Nation of Learners, a joint initiative that comprises a number of activities, including a competitive grant program, a professional development curriculum, and a Web site that will serve as the project’s “knowledge commons,” www.partnershipforlearners.org.
Eligible Grantees All types of libraries and museums may apply, except federal, federally funded, and for-profit libraries and museums. Public broadcasters that are Corporation for Public Broadcasting- qualified noncommercial television or radio licensees may apply.
Eligible Beneficiaries The purpose of this grant program is to build and strengthen working relationships among libraries, museums, and public broadcasting licensees that enhance their roles within their communities.

Eligible Activities The program will fund ongoing or new collaborative projects that use the organizations’ resources and core competencies to address community civic and educational needs; increase the organizations’ capacity to serve as effective venues and resources for learning; or enhance infrastructure and technology in order to serve audiences more effectively.
