  1. Programs within Businesses--What literacy or English proficiency programs do you currently have in place in your own organizations? Do you know of any programs to improve adult literacy and English proficiency beyond those in the organizations around the table?

  2. Programs in the Community--What are some examples of successful programs or actions that your businesses or others are carrying out in the community to improve adult literacy or English proficiency? That is, what are some good models of business-community partnerships?

  3. Gaps in Programs--What gaps do you see in the efforts businesses are making to improve adult literacy or English proficiency? What does not seem to be happening that you think should be?

The whole group will discuss recommendations for the Departments of Education and Labor regarding businesses’ efforts to raise adult literacy and English proficiency levels among their employees and in their communities.
