ED provides among other things: 1) funding (to help schools serve disadvantaged students, professional development, special education, and loans and grants to help pay for college) and 2) information (research and reports).

Because of the Internet, we can offer lots of information. Instantly. But you probably don't want lots of information.

This presentation is a "guided tour" of the ED website. It looks at tools that can help you find the information you want. It is organized around 5 questions:

1. Where can I find a new report or grant opportunity?

2. How can I search 1000s of resources and 100s of technical assistance and information organizations for the one that can help our school?

3. How can students use the web to prepare for college and apply for financial aid?

4. How can I find lesson ideas and instructional resources on a topic I'll teach for the first time next month?

5. How can I keep up-to-date on new reports and grants, new developments, and additions to the web?
