This is the focus of an on-going research project between myself, (Edward Ude), and Arturo Limon. We are doctoral students of Educational Leadership at Tex. A&M University-Kingsville and Corpus Christi, this is a joint university doctoral program. This work will be presented at a conference in Corpus Christi, Texas in the spring of 98. We posit that the changing demographics of the post-millenium student population will demand a greater use of computer technology, specifically networking, to transculturate and acquire a second language, i.e. English. No expensive softwares, just existing computer networks wil provide an opportunity for the potential English Learners to exchange ideas, culture, knowledge, and language. Computer telecommunications (non-video) provides a level playing field for language learning to take place in the Natural Approach/Method.
