There is a book in the thought-provoking lead-off sentence of this report. Very few people, except the very rich, had personal steam engines during the industrial revolution. A few did. Power to the people.
re: smart objects definitions. I am always impressed by the fact that the oldest surviving graphics are the cave paintings in France. We share enough context with the authors to understand them. Would we understand similar icons found on Mars?
Any why, in the fabulous future where bandwidth is free, would Vesper even venture out in person?
