Networking will change thinking

I think that the kind of thinking required to move around the Internet will change traditional Western/top/down/hierarchical modes of thinking. With branching and pursuing thread, the more linear modes of thinking imposed by print will be replaced by others. This will change how we read and write and how we will need to teach reading and writing. In addition, what we teach and how we assess reading and writing will also change. I, for one, think it's quite an exciting challenge for educators.
