Address the needs

The future of networking technologies for learning will come much more quickly if we listen more closely to the NEEDS of the users (students and educators). Understanding the needs, challenges, and environments within which learning takes place doesn't have to constrain development; we have lived through so much technology-searching-for-a-killer-app to SELL technology in the past 10-15 years... we pay lipservice to needs-driven design, but we could probably get things done better and quicker if we really focus on the "killer needs" and address them upfront... with or without technology.
