Education Secretary Riley Appoints Two Members to Student Aid Advisory Committee

U.S. Secretary of Education Richard W. Riley today announced the appointment of two new members to the Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance.

The 11 member committee advises the secretary and the Congress on student aid matters and makes recommendations on ways to improve access to postsecondary education for low-income and middle income students.

"Committee members offer recommendations to ensure that student aid programs are efficiently and effectively meeting student needs," Riley said. "Both new members have considerable experience implementing student financial aid programs at their respective schools, and their input will be especially useful as the department continues to improve these programs."
