The summer series Let's Read! Let's Move! kicked off at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. More than 200 children joined us for a round dance, story time, healthy snack tasting, tennis and team igloo building.
The Federal Communications Commission voted to make an additional $2 billion available to provide 20 million more students with access to high-speed Wi-Fi in their schools and libraries. Secretary Duncan called this a "major step forward" for the ConnectED initiative.
Principals nominate students at their school for the President's Education Awards for achievement and hard work in the classroom. The awards are sponsored by ED, the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
